Love What You Do! Do What You Love!

Our mission is to provide top-quality paint and painting services, expert color consultation, and a wide range of paint supplies, advice and home services to meet our customers' personal or professional project needs.

Sam is a licensed contractor with over 20 years of experience in the Painting and Construction industry. Backed by a dedicated, hard-working team, Sam consistently delivers high-quality results, making him a trusted expert in the field.

Sam moved to Tehachapi in the early 2000s to work with his wife's family (John Clodfelter Construction).  After a five day work week down south, he headed straight up the mountain on Friday nights. He quickly  figured out how different and friendly most people were up here in Tehachapi and wanted this environment for his family.

Not new to side work, Sam picked up a brush. Almost every trade involves some painting. The more he painted, the more he enjoyed it.  The instant gratification is still his favorite part of what he does. Opportunities began rolling in and then the opportunity to open 1stChoicePaint Store in 2018.

Sam now can give the community a chance to feel the instant gratification that every DIYer craves when finishing a project, especially if they were intimidated by the process.

He enjoys giving a few pointers for a better experience so your experience is better, so you'll come back for the next one. Quality products from Dunn-Edwards makes for a better experience. The proof is in pudding.  If you think paint is just paint then you just don't like pudding.

Every person who has tried our products and applies them properly, gets excited to try a higher quality product we carry.  Premium paint is worth the few extra dollars and cuts down on the years to repaint. It's hard to believe it’s already been 6 years. As they say, time flies when you're having fun!

Sam is deeply committed to this community, sponsoring local sports teams and organizing a memorable Prom with a group of parents, in 2020 after the original event was canceled. Recently, he donated paint to help a concerned citizen cover up graffiti, ensuring our community remains a welcoming place for all.
